Book 63 of 100

Middlemarch: It initially appeared to be very Jane Austen, as it’s subject matter is largely the marriage prospects of well-to-do young ladies and other provincial gossip.  But the characters are more complex.  Although it still tied the characters up in a nice “and they all lived happily ever after” bow in the last 50 pages.  Also quite a lot about the political background to the Reform Act, but I was hampered by background knowledge of the subject gleaned entirely from the election episode of Blackadder.
