Book 61 of 100

The Clan of the Cave Bear – A prehistoric novel of a girl adopted by a neanderthal tribe.  I’m not a massive fan of (pre)historical fiction that seems very keen to tell you all about the minutiae of day-to-day life of the era.  I often feel that the author’s spent so much time on their research, that they’ll be damned if they don’t squeeze as much of it into the book as possible at the expense of the plot.  But if I was that interested in what medicinal herbs the neanderthals used, I read a non-fiction book about it.  Except there probably aren’t any.  Because nobody is interested in that.
